Testimonials:
“This summer I had the privilege of attending Anderson University to complete my level III certification in Orff Schulwerk. Studying with Roger Sams was amazing and I felt I was able to take my understanding of the Schulwerk to the next level. I met many colleagues who I was able to connect with, as we grew together and honed our pedagogical understanding to better reach our students. Thank you to the GCCAOSA for financially assisting me in taking my course this summer!” – Adam Depew

Testimonial:
“Before I started level one, I knew that Orff Schulwerk was something special. I have been attending workshops and trying to understand the process and function of the Schulwerk in a classroom for four years. I was blessed to receive a scholarship to attend level one training in memory of a Greater Cincinnati chapter member who passed. Her husband knew that level one changed everything for her in her teaching and he wanted to make sure more teachers had the opportunity to learn the Orff Schulwerk method. To say the least, I now understand why Jenni thought this way. It is going to change everything for me in my teaching.
I knew before that Orff Schulwerk was all about a process of learning. I knew that it involved students creating and playing a big part in their learning. Little did I know how involved but yet simplistic it can be. It is all about students making decisions. Teaching my students that they are musicians, no matter how small. Musicians make decisions, work together, solve problems, and, maybe the most important, make music together! It is meant to be frustrating when something is not quite working out, but fun and satisfying when it does. Students are creative and have so many good ideas. Why should I make all the decisions if they are able to and will have more ownership if they create? I’ve learned that it’s time for me to hand over some of the power to them and let them be the musicians that they are.” – Bethany Howard
